Teri Schindler, CEO and co-founder of Herzog & Schindler, was recently invited as a guest on the Ecosystemic Futures podcast produced by NASA and Shoshin Works.
She emphasized the importance of connecting expertise across disciplines and building evidence-based frameworks to accelerate discovery. In the episode, Teri highlighted Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H)’s rapid innovation sprint on Polyplexus, which gathered over 500 ideas from every state in just 10 days. This initiative not only revealed key oversights but also expedited $25 million in funding for personalized medicine.
The episode also spoke to research indicating that purpose-driven communities can achieve a 40% higher signal-to-noise ratio in discovery networks compared to traditional platforms. Democratizing access and improving the quality of ideas in these networks can transform how cross-disciplinary breakthroughs emerge.
